Introduction:
At Pure Cruise, the safety and well-being of our guests are our top priorities. While we take every precaution to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience on Lake Rotoiti, it is important to understand the potential risks involved in activities such as swimming, tree jumping, and being on board our vessels.
By participating in our cruises and activities, you acknowledge and accept the risks outlined in this statement.

1. General Safety on Vessels:

Our vessels are designed and maintained to high safety standards in line with Maritime New Zealand guidelines and the Safe Ship Management framework; however, being on the water inherently carries some risk.

Passengers are advised to remain seated while the vessel is moving, unless instructed otherwise by the skipper or crew.

Please be cautious when moving around the vessel, especially when the conditions are wet or during rough water conditions.

Children must be always supervised by a responsible adult.

Life jackets are available and must be worn when directed by the skipper and crew.

The consumption of alcohol may impair your judgment and physical ability. Please drink responsibly while on board.

2. Swimming Activities:

Swimming in natural water environments can be unpredictable. Lake conditions may vary, including water temperature, and underwater hazards.

Guests choosing to swim do so at their own risk and must follow instructions given by the skipper and crew.

Swimming is only permitted in designated areas as specified by the crew.

Please be aware that swimming near the vessel is prohibited when engines are running.

Guests should be competent swimmers and comfortable in open water. If in doubt, please discuss your concerns with the crew before entering the water.

Floatation devices are available upon request.

3. Tree Jumping Activities:

Tree jumping involves climbing out onto tree limbs and leaping into the lake. This activity carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Injury from slips, falls, or incorrect entry into the water.

Collisions with submerged objects or other swimmers.

Guests who choose to tree jump do so at their own risk.

Please listen carefully to the skipper’s safety briefing before participating.

Only jump from designated trees and areas approved by the crew.

Always ensure the water below is clear of other swimmers or obstacles before jumping.

No diving is permitted. Jump feet first to reduce the risk of injury.

4. Acknowledgment of Risks:
By participating in activities aboard our vessels, including swimming and tree jumping, you acknowledge that:

You assume full responsibility for your own safety and that of any dependents under your care.

You will comply with all safety instructions given by the skipper and crew.

Pure Cruise will not be held liable for injuries or accidents that may occur as a result of voluntary participation in these activities.

5. Geothermal Hot pools and Geothermal Streams:
By entering or participating in activities at geothermal hot pools or geothermal streaks you acknowledge that:

Geothermal water and surface areas can reach extremely high temperatures, which may cause burns, scalding, or heat-related illnesses.

Unpredictable Environmental Conditions - Natural geothermal features may have sudden temperature changes, unstable ground, and concealed hot spots

Health Risks - Immersion in hot geothermal water may pose health risks to individuals with medical conditions (e.g., cardiovascular issues, pregnancy) and may cause dehydration, dizziness, or fainting.

Water Quality - Geothermal water may contain naturally occurring minerals or bacteria that can affect sensitive skin or open wounds.

Slippery or Uneven Surfaces - The area surrounding geothermal pools and streams may be wet, uneven, or covered in algae, increasing the risk of slips, trips, and falls.

You will comply with all safety instructions given by the skipper and crew.

6. Health and Safety Precautions:

Please inform the crew of any medical conditions or concerns before participating.

Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be restricted from participating in certain activities for safety reasons.

In the event of an emergency, follow the instructions of the skipper and crew without delay.

The person booking the charter is responsible for sharing this Risk Disclosure Statement with all members of their group. By boarding our vessels and participating in any activities, all guests acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this statement.
