1. How much does it cost?

All our charters are bespoke and tailored to your desired experience. Please get in touch with us through our contact page for a personalised quote.

2. What does the charter include?

Each charter includes a skipper and/or crew (depending on the vessel), along with complimentary tea, coffee, and drinking water.

 

3. How many people can come on the cruise?

Each vessel is surveyed up to a legal limit:

  • Rotoiti Explorer: Up to 40 passengers (please contact us if your group exceeds this number)

  • Airstream Project: Up to 18 passengers

  • Lake Lounge: Up to 18 passengers

  • Little Blue: Up to 14 passengers

 

4. Are there any age restrictions?

There are no age restrictions. However, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

 

5. When should I arrive for my charter?

Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled departure to ensure a smooth boarding process.

6. Can I consume or bring alcohol on board?

Yes, alcohol can be consumed on board; however, it is strictly limited to those 18 years and over. ID may be required for anyone who appears under 25.Unfortunately, we do not allow BYO alcohol as our On-license legally requires us to provide the sales and service of alcohol on our vessels.

 

7. Can I bring food on board?

Yes, we recommend bringing snacks. We also offer a light lunch menu on our exclusive charters – just let us know at the time of booking if you’d like to include this.

 

8. What should we bring on board?

  • Swimwear and towels

  • Clothing suitable for the weather – Layered clothing works best

  • Drink bottle

  • Sunscreen

  • Suitable footwear – Some embarkments may involve short walks

  • Cash/EFTPOS – For purchasing beverages on board and at the hot pools

 

9. Is there a toilet on board?

Yes, the Rotoiti Explorer has a marine toilet on board. Please use the sanitary bins provided, as marine toilets cannot flush sanitary items.Our other vessels do not have toilets; however, we can stop at DOC reserve toilets or bio-toilets at the Lake Rotoiti Hot pools when needed.

 

10. Can I smoke on board?

No, our vessels are smoke-free and vape-free.

 

11. Do I have to wear a life jacket?

Life jackets are available on all Pure Cruise vessels. While it is not mandatory for adults, we strongly recommend young children wear life jackets. You are also welcome to bring your own smaller vests.

 

12. Can we store gear on board while at the hot pools?

Yes, you are welcome to leave your belongings on board. However, please note that Pure Cruise is not liable for any loss or damage to personal items.

 

13. Can my charter be terminated?

Yes, our skippers reserve the right to terminate a charter if safety is compromised. This includes issues related to alcohol consumption, irresponsible behavior, or the safety of the vessel and others. No refunds will be given if a charter is terminated due to unsafe conduct.

 

14. Are skippers qualified?

Yes, all our skippers are maritime certified, hold current first aid certificates, and have bar manager licences.

 

15. Why am I being charged for the hot pools when I didn’t swim?

Manupirua Bay is a remote location accessible only by boat. All visitors who visit this area are subject to an entry fee (Hot pool entry), regardless of whether they choose to swim. This fee contributes to the maintenance of the pools, facilities, and walkways.
